Associate

Megan McKenzie is an associate in the firm’s New York office focusing on securities, antitrust, and complex commercial litigation.

Prior to joining Lowey Dannenberg, Ms. McKenzie experience has focused on a number of areas, including securities litigation, domestic and international complex commercial litigation, and defamation claims brought against large companies and public figures. She has dedicated significant time to qui tam whistleblower actions brought under the federal False Claims Act and Anti-Kickback Statute as well as actions brought under the federal sex trafficking statute.  Ms. McKenzie also has significant experience in both international and domestic mediation and arbitration.

In 2022, Ms. McKenzie successfully defended the Chief Financial Officer of a public company in an SEC investigation, resulting in the government declining to pursue the client for individual liability. However, the majority of her career has been dedicated to pursuing complex claims on behalf of plaintiffs against major corporations and organizations, including but not limited to, the Boston Globe, Fox News, Amazon Studios, major pharmacies and pharmaceutical companies, foreign state-run oil companies, former Wall Street executives, and fashion moguls.

Ms. McKenzie earned her J.D. from Georgetown Law School in 2019. During law school, she worked with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Division of Enforcement, as part of the Student Honors Program. During this time, she also served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Georgetown Entertainment and Media Law Review, an art law research assistant, and a research assistant and writer for a securities litigation treatise.

She received her B.A. in Government from Harvard College in 2013, with a secondary concentration (minor) in Visual Arts and a language certification in French.
