Business Insider’s Use of Meta Pixel

 What Happened:

Business Insider’s website secretly incorporates “Meta Pixel,” a tracking technology designed by Meta (formerly Facebook) for the specific purpose of tracking and monitoring users’ interactions. Through this tracking technology, Business Insider disclosed users’ private video viewing history to Meta in violation of the Video Privacy Protection Act (“VPPA”).

Lowey Dannenberg serves as liaison counsel in In re insider, Inc. Pixel-VPPA Litigation, 1:22-CV-06529 (S.D.N.Y.), an action against Insider Inc.
