In re Ramaco Resources, Inc. Securities Litigation
Deadline
Lowey Dannenberg, together with co-counsel, is prosecuting a federal securities class action against Ramaco Resources, Inc. and certain of its officers on behalf of investors who purchased Ramaco securities between July 31, 2025 and October 23, 2025. The case, In re Ramaco Resources, Inc. Securities Litigation, No. 1:26-cv-00846-ER, is pending in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York before Judge Edgardo Ramos. The court has appointed lead plaintiffs and approved Lowey Dannenberg and Pomerantz as co-lead counsel for the class.
The case centers on Ramaco's Brook Mine project in Sheridan, Wyoming, which the company touted to investors as a commercially and technologically feasible source of rare earth elements and critical minerals, particularly scandium. The complaint alleges that Ramaco could only make that claim by fabricating the assumptions underlying it: an unsupported scandium price of roughly $3,750 per kilogram, projected sales volumes that would have dwarfed the entire global scandium market, and claims of confirmed customer demand at those prices that Ramaco did not actually have. The complaint further alleges that Ramaco misrepresented a economic study prepared by Fluor Corporation as an "independent" assessment satisfying SEC mining-disclosure rules, when Fluor simply adopted Ramaco's own unverified price and demand figures without independent scrutiny.
According to the complaint, the truth began to emerge when Wolfpack Research published a report challenging Ramaco's scandium pricing and demand claims, corroborated by more than a dozen independent industry experts — some of whom had raised the same concerns to a local Wyoming news outlet months earlier. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission subsequently sent Ramaco a comment letter questioning the feasibility conclusions underlying its disclosures, and Ramaco's own CEO later acknowledged that discussions with prospective customers had never reached specific pricing terms. As these facts came to light, Ramaco's stock price declined significantly, causing substantial losses for investors who had purchased shares during the class period.
The litigation is ongoing. If you purchased or otherwise acquired Ramaco Resources securities during the class period and suffered losses, you may have legal rights and should contact our firm to discuss your options. This description is a summary of allegations in a pending lawsuit; the allegations have not been proven, and Ramaco has denied wrongdoing.
