Patricia Zapata Latzer is Of Counsel and Co-Lead of the firm’s Mass Arbitration practice group. She represents consumers in complex mass arbitrations against major corporations. Her practice focuses on arbitration strategy and high-stakes consumer disputes, including matters involving the enforcement and interpretation of arbitration agreements and procedural rules.
Before joining Lowey Dannenberg, Patricia was a litigation associate at an Am Law 100 firm, where she represented corporate clients in complex commercial disputes and employment misclassification disputes. Her experience on both sides of the litigation landscape gives her a strategic perspective in pursuing claims against sophisticated defendants.
Since beginning her practice in 2017, Patricia has litigated matters in federal courts across the country and has worked extensively on issues at the intersection of arbitration and civil procedure. She has handled cases involving the interpretation and application of arbitration rules and has developed substantial experience navigating large-scale coordinated proceedings.
Patricia previously served as a law clerk in the Eastern District of New York to the Honorable Sandra J. Feuerstein, U.S.D.J. and in the District of New Jersey to the Honorable Edward S. Kiel, U.S.D.J. (then a Magistrate Judge). Her clerkship experience informs her practical and strategic approach to motion practice, advocacy, and case development.
