Cincinnati State Technical Community College Data Breach Investigation

What Happened and What Information Was Involved:
Cincinnati State is a public higher education institution located in Cincinnati, Ohio, offering 130 degree and certificate programs.
Cincinnati State recently announced that on November 2, 2022, it detected unauthorized access to their network as a result of a cybersecurity incident that resulted in the potential exposure of data that Cincinnati State maintains.
As a result of Cincinnati State’s investigation, on November 15, 2022, they discovered that certain files were removed from their network between October 30, 2022, and November 2, 2022, which contained personal information.
According to information provided to the Office of the Maine Attorney General, the personal information acquired included:
- Name or other personal identifier in combination with:
- Financial Account Numbers or Credit/Debit Card Numbers (in combination with security codes, access codes, passwords or PINs for the account)
