CentiMark Corporation Data Breach Investigation

CentiMark Corporation Data Breach Investigation

Lowey Dannenberg is investigating claims for violations of the common law and state consumer protection statutes by CentiMark Corporation (“CentiMark”), as a result of a data breach involving highly sensitive Social Security numbers and driver’s license numbers.

What Happened and What Information Was Involved:

CentiMark is a commercial roofing company headquartered in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania

On December 2, 2022, CentiMark announced that on August 11, 2022, the company discovered and stopped a ransomware attack, in which an unauthorized third party accessed some of CentiMark’s computer network. CentiMark’s investigation determined that there was intermittent unauthorized access to their servers between August 7, 2022 and August 11, 2022. Through the investigation, CentiMark learned that the company would be unable to determine what specific information the unauthorized third party viewed within or acquired from their network.

CentiMark states that it is possible that the following information could have been accessed by the unauthorized third party:

  • First and last names
  • Dates of birth
  • Social Security numbers, and/or
  • Driver’s license numbers
