Lowey Dannenberg is investigating claims for violations of the common law and state consumer protection statutes by Apria Healthcare LLC (“Apria”), as a result of a data breach involving highly sensitive data, including financial account numbers or credit/debit card numbers.

What Happened and What Information Was Involved:

Apria is a national provider of home healthcare equipment and related services across the USA, serving approximately 2 million patients from 280 locations. Apria recently announced that on September 1, 2021, Apria received a notification regarding access to Apria’s systems by an unauthorized third party. According to the company, an unauthorized third party accessed systems which contained personal information from April 5, 2019 to May 7, 2019 and again from August 27, 2021 to October 10, 2021.

According to information Apria supplied to the Maine Attorney General, the information acquired included:

Name or other personal identifier in combination with:

• Financial Account Number or Credit/Debit Card Number (in combination with security code, access code, password or PIN for the account)
